Quality Desserts upgrades IT
Toowoomba Queensland-based Quality Desserts has upgraded its IT systems to aid in fulfilling, local, national and international orders. Fulfilling both high and low volume production requirements, and following some recent contract wins for the bakery, Quality Desserts adopted for a single comprehensive IT solution from Sanderson. Sanderson is a publicly owned food and beverage software provider and provided a system that included factory floor data capture to replace manual paper-based systems. Touchscreen PCs linked to weigh scales ensured the latest recipe versions are used and quality and consistency are monitored and improved. Further screens display production schedules, mixing and packing instructions, record material use and improve traceability and quality control information. Functionality within the recipe costing module will highlight the impact of ingredient cost changes. "We required an IT solution that was capable of capturing detailed production, traceability and quality control data directly from the factory floor and integrating this with our business management systems," said group business development manager at Quality Desserts Julian Lancaster-Smith. "Sanderson has extensive knowledge of the food industry and their ability to demonstrate a single solution to address all of our business requirements was key to our decision."The Sanderson solution is called Formula.
